Baby It's Cold Outside!

Oh my goodness it is freezing outside! 

Schools were closed today and will be closed tomorrow too.

I took my son to an ortho appointment today the temp in the car was -16 degrees...Brrrrr.

I have to say I wasn't cold but I wasn't out in the weather very long.

 

I've been working on some penny rugs.

Mittens to keep you warm.

 

I couldn't wait to work on a Valentine penny rug. 

I will be working on more.

 I just had to start something spring like...I love this little blue bird.

I stayed up way too late to finish this one.

 And I always look forward to Saint Patrick's Day!

I can't believe how long its been since I posted on this blog but life got in the way. 

It's been a very busy last few months. Busy in a good way and busy in a not so good way too.

I think and hope everything has settled down now. I feel it's going to be a good 2014!

My computer crashed during the holidays...bad timing...and one big headache. If this has ever happened to you, you know what a pain it is.  I lost a lot of stuff I didn't want to lose. If you tried to get a hold of me I'm sorry I didn't get back to you.

It's Mitten Time and A Thank You....

I've been working on some mitten penny rugs and table runners.

I just love making these....mixing colors and patterns.

With mittens there is snow and snowmen.

I don't always work on penny rugs but penny rug crocks too!

Did you know I paint on crocks?



I keep all my threads and small fabric snippets in here when I sew.

It helps keep my sewing area a little neater.

 

I have been working so hard on keeping up with my craft fairs.

I just had to show you....

I just had to share what I've been working on.

I made this penny rug using a pattern from Primitive Gathering.

I can't tell you how much I love this piece!

 

I use all hand dyed wool except for the crow and background.



I have to tell you cutting out all those pieces for the pennies took forever but I did love putting the color combinations together.



 

The stitching was the fun part!  So was the finishing.

 

Now off to the next piece.

Summer Sew Along...

At the beginning of summer I signed up to participate in a sew along.  I have never done anything like this before but it sounded fun and it involved Wool so I couldn't resist.

Lynda of Primitive Pieces by Lynda is the hostess.

She used one of her patterns...too cute.

 This is how the piece looked when I got it in the mail.

 So far 5 or 6 people worked on it.

 This is how it looks after I added my pennies.

 I'm loving this table topper.

I just sent it off to the next stitcher.

Then one more person and Lynda will finish it.

After it's done one of the gals that worked on the piece will win the table topper.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that my name is the one chosen.

Just Stitching Away....

 

I thought I would show you some of the things I've finished this summer.

 This bird, berries and flowers runner is my favorite!

I liked how it looked on my table so much I had to make one for myself.

 I'm getting ready for fall....my favorite season!

 I just love all the hand dyed wools in this runner.

Taking a Little Vacation

I'm just taking a little vacation....,

It's a happy Monday morning for me. I just finished up these precious little mice. It seems like I've been working on these forever, finding just the right candlestick, just the right fabric and just the right faces. I just love how these turned out.
