Raggedy Dolls, Wool Applique and A Big Thank You....

I just can't believe that it's been 10 days since my last post.
Well, I have an excuse...the Weather here in Wisconsin has been beautiful and I've been working outside!  I don't ever remember a string of nice days like this in March.  We usually go from winter to summer but this year we are having a spring and it feels wonderful!

I'll show you what crafting I've been doing.
Working on Raggedy Dolls.
I just love how these girls look in their pretty dresses without their hair and makeup.
It's so much fun matching fabric for their dresses and aprons.
I finally finished this table mat.
I really like how the tongues frame the picture and add more color.
This is a pattern from The Cottage at Cardiff Farms. I've had this pattern for awhile so I'm not sure where I bought it.

I'm still working on this wool applique picture.  I think I'm going to keep this one for myself so I haven't only been working on it a little at a time.
This is a pattern by Threads That Bind called Alphabet Song.

I would also like to say a big "Thank You" to Brenda at The Rusty Thimble.
I won these adorable bunny rabbits...they look perfect sitting on the mantel with all my other rabbits. I took them off to take the picture.
To visit Brenda's blog  click here.
I also added a few things on ebay and started putting some of my things on etsy too. You can find the link on my sidebar if you would like to take a look. If you have any questions feel free to email me.

Well, I have dolls calling me...they want hair!
Laundry is buzzing too.

Enjoy your day,
Leanne

Wanna See What I'm Working On?

Yes, I've been stitching!

I couldn't wait to make this wool applique from Threads That Bind...it's a sampler.
I still need to add the alphabet, leaves and some details.

The pattern has it mounted as a picture and that's what I want to do with it...I already have just the spot for it.

I love how this pumpkin table mat is turning out.
I know it's almost spring so why am I working on pumpkins...
I plan on putting this piece in my booth for my fall craft fairs.

I still have to put the tongues on.  I just love the hand dyed wool appliqued to the soft plaid flannel.

A day wouldn't be complete if I didn't finish a penny rug.
I've done a few with soft white floss for spring and summer.
I've been trying to finish 4 a week and so far I've been successful.
These sell pretty well at my fairs.
I like mixing any and all colors together...the black stitching pulls it all together.

So that's what I'm working on.
I'll show you the projects when they're too.

Enjoy your day,
Leanne

Spring is Here....

It's a beautiful sunny day!
My thoughts are going to Spring.

The birds are singing, I can see buds on the trees and flowers will be blooming soon.

It's ice cream time...I know it's always ice cream time but you know what I mean.

Lacrosse practice has started.

Yes, spring is here...at least for this week.

Enjoy your day,
Leanne

Snow, Penny Rugs, Shopping...

This is what I woke up to on Saturday morning.
Isn't it beautiful?

I just love how the snow was sticking on every branch.

The sky was so blue and the sun was out.
It almost looks fake.  How can that much snow stick on each branch?

It's lightly snowing today, nice big flakes.  It looks so peaceful.

With it snowing and looking so much like winter I had to make this mitten penny rug.
Remember? I bought the pattern earlier this year at Primitive Gatherings.
Click here if you would like to go back to that post.

I had so many small pieces of brown wool that I thought I would make so woolie gingerbread boys.
They look so cute with their red wool scarves.
I put a string on the back to hang them.
I can just picture them on a Christmas tree with other woolie ornaments.
One question...should I put eyes on?  I would use beads for eyes.
What do you think?
I thought I would share a picture of Jack and I after a long day of walking in Chicago.
Jack had a day off of school to make a long weekend.
We wanted to do something fun so we went to Chicago and spent the night there.
It was a little cold and windy but what do you expect in the middle of winter.

We took the train so I had some time to do a little stitching.

Penny rugs are the easiest things to take along.

I usually keep a stash of penny rugs ready to sew

I have more on ebay if you're interested...click here.
I hope you all are having a great weekend.
I ending mine with what else....stitching.

Enjoy your day,
Leanne

Penny Rugs? No, Raggedies...

I know you're used to seeing penny rugs and wool applique here on my blog but...
Did I ever tell you how much I love making Raggedies?

I love picking out the fabrics for their dresses.

Making their aprons...almost every raggedy needs an apron and some pretty pantaloons.

Picking out the right yarn for their hair.

Or should I say their wild hair.
I used to be a hairdresser so fixing her hair is very fun to me...the wilder the better.
Adding big bows or pieces of homespun to finish off their hair....how cute!

I love making their faces...button eyes with big eyelashes, stitched noses, blushed cheeks and their little smiles or maybe no mouth at all.
They each take on a little personality of their own.

When I'm finished with all the pieces I dress them and make them all neat and pretty.
Maybe add a little something, something in their hands...like this Raggedy with the gingerbread in her arms.

But the best part of making these little raggedy dolls is seeing who they will go home with.
When I sell them at fairs my customers always share with me where my raggedy will sit or who will receive her as a gift and for what occasion or who she will be sent to...their state or country...I love hearing that!

If you would like to take home one of these dolls I have listed them on ebay or you can always email me.

Enjoy your weekend,
Leanne
