I've Been Tagged

I've been tagged by Debbie of Simple Country Blessings. Debbie is a CPLG sister.

Here are the rules:
Rule #1 ~ Link to the person that tagged you.

Rule #2 ~ Post the rules on your Blog.

Rule #3 ~ Write 6 random things about yourself.

Rule #4 ~ Tag 6 people at the end of your post.

Rule #5 ~ Let each person know that they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their Blog.

Rule #6 ~ Let the tagger know your entry is up.

Okay 6 things about me:

1. I love my family, I have a great husband and 3 really good sons. I feel blessed to be able to call them my family.

2. I love fabric...I can't go into a fabric store without touching half of the fabrics and yes, I almost always buy!

3. Cheesecake is my downfall. I have yet to find a cheesecake I don't like!

4. I like to snow blow and shovel. This is a good thing since I live in Wisconsin.

5. I turned 50 this year...I've been told 50 is the new 30 so I'm sticking to that.

6. I got Rock Band for my birthday. I have had a blast with this present. I can't play the drums or guitar but I love singing with the microphone. I can't sing but the game doesn't know that! As long as I keep the game on easy I can almost finish a song without getting booed.

Below Zero Temps

What else do you do when you have below zero temps and it's a few days before Christmas? Decorate cookies!!!
Do you think we have enough sugar and jimmies on our cookies?

Many of the cookie cutters I used were my Grandma's. I remember decorating them when I was a child.
This is the house that Jack built. This is his first time building and decorating a Gingerbread House.

He was getting pretty good at using a pastry bag.

Almost done.
If I don't use all the decorating candy can I eat what's left?

3 Seasons Porch

Snowmen, snowmen and more snowmen. This is what I see when I sit at the kitchen table and look out the window.
See the large snowman with the red coat...he is catching snowflakes with his tongue.

My little snowman tree.

You can see some of my CPLG ornie exchange ornaments.

You can never have too many ornaments!!!!

Snow Day!!!!

Yipee!!! We had a snow day today... 13 inches of the white fluffy stuff. No school for Jack so we made gingerbread cookies.

Holiday Decorating

Snowmen teapots and mugs. The base of the Christmas tree is in the cookie jar my grandma had in her kitchen.
Just a few snowmen in the dining room.

Ready for the Holidays?

The air is chilly, we have snow on the ground and Christmas is just around the corner....yippee! I just love the holidays! I love to decorate my home! I love making Christmas cookies! I love buying gifts for family and friends! I love to wrap presents too!

I started decorating on Thanksgiving weekend and finely finished on Saturday. This year I tried something different...I put tinsel on our tree. Last week my son Jack and I were shopping and he picked up a package of tinsel. Jack asked me what it was and what do you do with it. Well I had to buy it and put it on the tree. I forgot how tedious it can be putting on one piece at a time. Jack told me it was the prettiest tree we ever had! I will take some pictures and share them with you.

Where has the time gone?

Where has the time gone? I just can't believe that it has been so long since I have put anything in this blog.

I have been getting ready for my craft fairs!

I do about 4-5 shows every year...all in the fall.

I added some pictures of my booth at the Cheery Cherry craft fair.
I'll take you on a tour.

See my new punchneedle pictures? My new favorite craft to do!

See my crocks...they are my best sellers.

More fall stuff. The scarecrows on the top shelf are my favorites.

I can't do a craft fair without Christmas...my favorite holiday.

Back to fall. See my fall leaves crocks on the top shelf. I have them all over my home.

This fair was the end of September that's why I have so much fall. I added Raggedies this year. I love making dolls. It's how I get my girlie fix. I am surrounded by males in my home.

Inside the suitcase are my penny rugs. That suitcase was my grandma's...it still has the label with her name on it.

Potpouri in the basket. My fabric sunflowers, crows and scarecrows in a crock of course.

Back to where we started.

If you like what you saw and would like to make a purchase I have some of these things on sale on ebay, etsy and my website at http://www.harvestmoonbythelake.com/.

Come see me at my next fair.

Annies

I found some new patriotic fabrics and when I added them to the fabrics I had well, I just had to make some Annies. These Annies are just on time for the summer. This first one is made with a pattern from Patties Ratties.
This Annie is just a cutie with her round head and wild hair! I made her with a pattern from Sweet Meadows Farm...with my own touches.
This Annie is my favorite! I designed her myself! I just love the fabrics I used to make her dress! And her wild hair! Can you tell I'm into hair...I used to be a hairdresser. The weather is so nice I'm starting to think about summer!

Piano Recital

Boy, does time fly! I can't believe how long it's been since I posted.

I have been working on my crafts and opened up an ebay store. I am the "paper" manager for Jack's soccer and baseball team. I do the paper work for the team...send out schedules, email reminders and anything else the coach needs me to do. I'm a control freak so by volunteering to be the manager I know what's going on. This weekend has been on and off rain. That has made the playing fields very muddy. Jack did get to play soccer but our first baseball was canceled.

I have also volunteered to help with the Cub Scout picnic. Planing the meal and making the meal. I love planning parties so I thought this would be fun. I just found out that last year we had 250 people. EEEEK That's alot of hot dogs and potato salad. LOL We have a good group of parents so I think this should not be too bad. I will keep you posted.

Today we went to Jack's piano recital. This was his 4th recital and he did a really nice job...no mistakes that I could hear. I am so proud of him. He did a duet with his teacher...Theme from Symphony #40 by Mozart. My niece played piano at the recital too. I think this is her 8th year. I was just in awe of her piece...it was beautiful. I think she must have two sets of hands to play all those notes. I am very proud of her too. There were 2 high school boys who played for us today. They were awesome. One of the boys took state in the WMCA music competition. I like seeing the boys because I think it encourages Jack to keep playing. I have told him that he could quit piano when he's 18...this way when he asks if he can quit I say sure in 9 years. We'll see if it works. I am so happy he's playing piano because I never played an instrument but I have a love for music.

Next week is Mother's Day...it's one of the most fun days of the year if you're a mom.

Have a happy week. ~*~Leanne~*~

Pictures of Seattle

Seattle home of Starbucks. I had to go the the original one across the street from the Public Market. I bought a coffee thermos and had them fill it full of coffee....yum. Now I feel like I belong in Seattle...everyone walks around with a cup of coffee.

Looking to buy a water home in Seattle. Lake front property is expensive but you can get this brown gem for a mere $300 thousand. It's one of the oldest water homes on the lake.

Beautiful lake front. I wonder whose house is next...can you tell I like looking at homes.

Oh, look it's Bill Gates home. Yes that's right. I don't think we can see all of it because of the hill it's built on. What wonderful lake frontage. I wonder who the neighbors are?

This is the aquarium. Our family loves looking at fish, eating fish, fishing...just about anything that has to do with fish.

These are just a few of the pictures we took in Seattle. We had a great time...Thank You Seattle!

A quick trip to Seattle

We took a quick 5 day trip to Seattle, Washington. What a beautiful area. This was my first time there. It is so different from Wisconsin but I loved it. I thought I would share some pictures.

This is the city of Seattle taken from the top of the Space Needle. If you look real close you can see Mount Rainer.

Go Brewers Go

Did you ever have one of those days when, at night you look back and think, that was a good day? Well today was one of those days for me. The sun was out the temp was about 65 degrees...this time of year in Wisconsin 65 feels like summer.

We started out the day going to the Brewers game. When I say we I mean my husband, son Jack and I. When we got to Miller Park the parking lot was full of tailgaters and the smell of brats on the grill. We met up with our older sons who were tailgating with some of their friends. They invited us to join them ...the beer was cold and brats were delicious! Thanks boys!

The Brewers were winners. The game was exciting...our pitcher had a no hitter going until the 5th inning, 2 home runs for the Brewers and the Italian won the sausage race.

The rest of the day was spent at Jack's baseball practice followed by the last indoor soccer game of the season and a pizza party after. They had my favorite pizza...baked potato pizza....thin crust pizza with potato, bacon, cheese and chives with sour cream on the side...yum.

The day is over and I thought I would write a little in my blog while everyone else is getting ready for bed. So as I think about the day, it was a good day, a fun day, a sunny day and a warm day spent with family and friends...what else could you ask for?

~*~ The Cat Jumped Over the Pumpkin Punch Needle Mini Picture~*~

~*~Scrap Happy Sunflower Pin~*~
~*~Pretty in Pink Raggedy Annie~*~

This is just the start

I never thought I would do something like this....but I am.

I think I will start off by telling a little about myself. I'm married and a stay at home mom of three boys. My oldest are twins that are 21 and my youngest is 9. Yes, I know this is a large gap...12 years to be exact. Jack was born after we bought a new house so when you hear the saying "new house new baby" it's true. LOL

I am a crafter with a love for sewing and painting. I have been crafting for many years but I have been selling my crafts at fairs for about 16 years. I just started a website, http://www.harvestmoonbythelake.com/ , shop on Ebay at, http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQfgtpZ1QQfrppZ25QQsassZharvestmoonbythelake and shop on Etsy at http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5721240 . So if you are looking for me look for harvestmoonbythelake.

I would like to share recipes, thoughts, a little crafting, some pictures and a part of my everyday life.
